The 56,000 sq ft five-storey warehouse was formerly used as a cotton mill, before being taken over by printing company Percy Brothers. The building was more recently used as a printing shop until 2011 where the building was then left vacant.

Hotspur House is near two prime residential developments; the Macintosh Mills redevelopment and also opposite a 280-apartment scheme by Renaker Build.

Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of Hotspur Press as PBSA (Student accommodation) which would see part of the historic building’s facade kept, its signage restored and a new 35 story block of 619 student units built behind its frontage.

We acquired the site in 2015, gained planning permission for 33 flats, with underground parking. Work commenced in 2017 and Constable Court was completed in 2019.

We acquired the former leadworks in Chester in 2015. It comprised various industrial buildings, some listed including the “Shot Tower” which had been unused for 15 years.

The tower is the tallest structure in Chester, and one of just three remaining shot towers in the UK. They were used to manufacture lead shot for shot guns.

The previous owner had planning permission for 50 flats and ground floor retail. We submitted revised plans for 69 flats and 3 town houses incorporating the listed buildings and tower.

It is an iconic development, situated on the Shropshire Union Canal opposite the RIBA nominated Waitrose store in Chester.

The project was completed in 2022 and won an “Outstanding Design and Conservation” award and was nominated for “Larger development ” in 2022 The North West Homebuilder Awards.

Acquired in 2015 as eight HMO units. Completely re-designed layout, extended into basement and roof to create 11 new high specification flats for sale. The work was completed in 2016.

Cranford was a 6.5 acre former golf driving range located in the Heaton Mersey area, of South Manchester. Acquired the site in 2015, and obtained planning permission for houses. Initially 75, and later increased to a mix of 106 houses and flats for shared ownership and affordable housing.

The site was delivered for Great Places by Breck Construction – who commenced work in 2021.

High specification New build property in rural area just outside Knutsford, Cheshire. Acquired site in 2015 – obtained planning permission for 4,000 ft 7 bed detached house. Commenced work in 2018 and completed and sold 2020.

Acquired in 2005 – 60,000m2 (15 acre) established orange grove with small 100 year old finca (farmhouse) close to Sta Gertrudis, Ibiza. After years of negotiations with local authorities, obtained planning for a new much larger house. Construction started in 2007 and was completed in 2010.

The completed property was designed by Minimum Architecture of Ibiza – and is considered a one of the finest homes on the island.

Acquired site in 2001 – and worked with Erpicum Architect Studio (Belgium) to deliver a spectacular modernist villa which steps down the hillside. 8,000ft2 set over three floors on 36,000m2 (10 acres) of land. Views across the Mediterranean to Formentera.

The property was completed in 2003 and kept as an investment for some time before being sold in 2011.

We acquired a simple 1960’s house in the coveted "Bird Streets" area of Hollywood Hills. Working with Whipple Russell Architects, we drew up plans for a modernist house inspired by 1959 “Stahl House”, one of the most famous LA Case Study houses.

Complete demolition of the existing house and new foundations for a swimming pool cantilevered out over the hillside below. The site offered sweeping city views of downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean, and the new 4,000 ft2 house is a prominent contemporary update of a classic mid-century modern.
